Fredrik Schlyter

PhD. in 1985 on a thesis "Aggregation pheromone system in the spruce bark beetle Ips typographus"; in 1992 appointed Docent in Animal Ecology, and in 2006 appointed  Professor in Plant Protection Ecology. Main research interests include  plant-insect relationships, especially the function of non-host chemical cues for host selection in conifer insects and pheromone biology and mating strategies of bark beetles. Have published >60 scientific papers, the latest publications are listed here.
I maintain close co-operation with Organic chemistry at MidSweden Univ. (MIUN, Sundsvall) and Pheromone Group at Ecology Dept.,  Lund Univ.

Currently, I am involved in management of three main projects:

	"SemioForm" Formulation of semiochemicals for plant protection against forest pest insects  Formas cross-disciplinary grant (Project leader together with Magnus Nydén, CTH and Hans-Erik Högberg, MIUN)   2006 -2008

I was also vice Swedish representative in the managing committee of   "BAWBILT" or Bark And Wood Boring Insects in Living Trees a COST action 2000-2002.
